Two New Transformations in Princess Peach: Showtime! Trailer
The latest trailer for Princess Peach: Showtime! introduces two exciting new transformations, accompanied by new gameplay footage. Additionally, the previously announced transformations are showcased, giving players a glimpse of the game’s diverse styles of play.
Ninja Peach, one of the new transformations, focuses on platforming and stealth. The trailer showcases Peach wall jumping to collect coins, although the purpose of the coins is currently unknown. Interestingly, there doesn’t appear to be a UI indicator for the coins, which might be intentional for the trailer. Moreover, Peach is seen cleverly using fake foliage to conceal herself from an enemy before swiftly striking it down. It remains unclear whether the spotlight on the enemy signifies its importance or denotes an area where Peach cannot hide.
The second newly revealed transformation is Cowgirl Peach. She is first shown lassoing enemies in a saloon and then engaging in a thrilling horse chase on a bridge. During the chase, players must execute timed jumps to avoid falling into holes created by the enemy’s gunshots. Notably, the game pays attention to detail and maintains world-building consistency by featuring horses that are not real but instead pulled by wires, aligning with the theatrical performances central to the game’s concept.
Returning from the original announcement trailer are the transformations of Swordfighter, Detective, Patissiere, and Kung Fu Peach. Swordfighter Peach, reminiscent of The Rose of Versailles, showcases dazzling moves both in platforming stages and boss battles. Detective Peach is depicted inspecting footprints and conversing with a bobby, diligently jotting down notes in her notebook. Patisserie Peach impressively creates adorable sweets while a timer runs in the background. Lastly, Kung Fu Peach’s gameplay highlights both platforming and combat, with players earning coins when she triumphs over a group of enemies.
Princess Peach: Showtime! is a significant departure from Super Princess Peach, showcasing Peach’s diverse set of skills. Even if these six transformations are the only ones included in the game, set to release on March 22, it is thrilling to consider how distinctively they each play and how they might synergize to create a cohesive gaming experience.
