MW3 (2023): All maps confirmed

With the official release date set for 10 November 2023, details about the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) are pouring in. Fans of the series can expect a nostalgic return with the reintroduction of beloved maps from Modern Warfare 2 (Highrise 🥰).

🌍 List of confirmed maps

According to revelations from CharlieIntel, Modern Warfare 3 will feature a series of remastered maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 game. Here’s the full list of maps confirmed so far:

  • Afghan
  • Derail
  • Estate
  • Favela
  • Highrise
  • Invasion
  • Karachi
  • Quarry
  • Rundown
  • Rust
  • Scrapyard
  • Skidrow
  • Sub Base
  • Terminal
  • Underpass
  • Wasteland

These revelations were confirmed via an ARG linked to the MW3 reveal. Fans were directed to a phone number and received confirmations after being sent the names of these maps.

A nostalgic return🎮

Sledgehammer Games, the developer behind MW3, seems to have taken the decision to immerse players in a wave of nostalgia. The majority of these maps are taken from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Fans will be able to relive their favourite moments on iconic maps such as Estate, Highrise, Favela, Terminal and, of course, Rust. Yes, Rust, you know, where everything was settled in 1vs1 no scope.

However, although these maps are familiar to us geeks, we expect them to have a new look. They will be remastered to fit seamlessly into MW3’s graphical environment.

Coming soon

While some were hoping to see all the new maps, there’s a good chance that Modern Warfare 3 will also include some never-before-seen maps. What’s more, a map voting system, already present in previous installments, could be making a comeback, although Activision has yet to confirm this feature.

With the official reveal date set for today directly in Warzone, the community is in an uproar. Excitement is running high and fans are eager to find out more about what MW3 has to offer. Activision’s strategy of rekindling nostalgia by reintroducing maps from previous opuses seems to be working perfectly. Stay tuned for more information following the official reveal!
